RADHEE identified that Fire Brigade vehicles were getting delayed in responding to the emergencies due to traffic. However, traffic police had no means of knowing the movement of emergency vehicles to make provision for them in traffic conditions.
Advocacies
- Instrumental to bring the Traffic Police and Fire Brigade to develop a policy to share the information and action plan to reduce the response time during a fire, building collapse, and disaster. Through the Officer Exchange Program, representative of each department was seated in another’s control room for effective coordination.
- On successful implementation of the Green Corridor concept for NDRF during the building collapse in Mumbai, NDMA issued the letter to all State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) to create the green corridor for NDRF and Fire Brigade. After that, the NDRF and Fire Brigade started getting green corridor during the building collapse and Fire Incidents across India.
